The Grand Samhain Masqued Cabaret

For the night that was in it, 01 November, we had some spooky-themed performances, and some great spot prizes – thank you The Project Arts Centre and The Dublin Burlesque Festival, and performers, and please scroll down for some wonderful photos of the event by Turlach OBróin.   There was was Kit Fryatt and her “Ghastlymake” spoken word manifestation, a Dead of the Dead dance from Kate Finegan, amhráin as Gaelige ó Enda Reilly do Samhain,  and a murder ballad from Hostess Helena Mulkerns and Pianoman Josh Johnston.  With some devil’s music blues sounds came Slindin’ PK and the Junkyard duo.   There was Circus magic in the form of the lovely Su Hamilton, new songs from Helena Byrne and poetry and drama from Maestro Eamon Carr.  Ciné Sweetcake’s film was a special one: a short contemporary horror from Andrew T Wright, widely acclaimed and billed for development as a feature.  We dedicated the evening to Andrew, a wonderful guy and talented film maker who tragically lost his battle with a long illness earlier that day, but wished us to screen the film at the event.  Our thoughts and love to his family at this time.

We dedicated this evening to film maker Andrew T. Wright, RIP
